After my adventure with White Coffee, I decided it was time to return to some tried and true territory: the bold dark roast attributed to the Gallican lands. The Benedictines of Abbey Roast did not disappoint and have crafted an excellent representation of what French Roast should be (the badly roasted and bitter beans of the green siren notwithstanding): smoky like a Texas barbeque, deep and bold like a Spanish wine, and black as fine Dutch licorice.
To my surprise, it even improved the white coffee! Yes, white coffee can give a better caffeine boost and taste when mixed with a bold black. My productivity at work owes much to this discovery.
Next time, something non-coffee and preferably alcoholic.
